Tiago Torres (ranked 381st), Frederico Silva (233rd), and Henrique Rocha (124th) are the first Portuguese players to take the clay court at the Estoril Tennis Club, where six Portuguese players are competing.
Nuno Borges, Henrique Rocha, and Tiago Pereira now know their first-round opponents for the 11th edition of the Estoril Open—taking place through Sunday at the Estoril Tennis Club—following the conclusion of the qualifying rounds.
The national number one, Nuno Borges—currently ranked 52nd in the world—will face Brazilian Orlando Luz (ranked 1,072nd ATP). Luz secured his first ATP Tour singles main draw appearance in nine years after winning both of his qualifying matches. The Brazilian player is also entered in the doubles competition alongside compatriot Rafael Matos.
Meanwhile, Henrique Rocha (124th ATP) will face the experienced Spaniard Pedro Martinez (157th ATP), who was the tournament runner-up in 2024.
Youngster Tiago Pereira (379th ATP) will go up against Peruvian Gonzalo Bueno (176th ATP). Bueno, 22, secured his spot in the main draw of the Portuguese ATP 250 event by eliminating Italian Andrea Pellegrino in the second round of qualifying. Pereira made his debut at the event in 2025, back when it was still an ATP Challenger Tour tournament.
Jaime Faria—ranked 92nd ATP and competing in the Portuguese ATP 250 event for the third time in his career—will face Botic Van de Zandschulp (55th) of the Netherlands for the first time.
Three of the six Portuguese players in the draw will take the court this Monday. Tiago Torres (ranked 381st) will face Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili (135th), while Frederico Silva (233rd) is set to play Frenchman Luca van Assche (86th).
Later in the day, Henrique Rocha will make his debut in the first round of the main draw at the Estoril Tennis Club.
