Xavi reportedly ‘blocked’ Neymar’s potential return to Barcelona
The Barcelona coach ruled out having the Brazilian star in the squad for next season.
Xavi Hernández reportedly refused the possibility of Neymar returning to Barcelona, the club he left in 2017 to sign for PSG. This information is being reported by Mundo Deportivo, which reveals the two main reasons for this.
First of all, and outside the control of the Barcelona coach, was the financial issue, as UEFA has been tightening the screws on the club regarding financial fair play.
Even so, Barcelona’s management wanted to hear from Xavi, who definitively ruled out Neymar’s potential return. Mundo Deportivo explains that the quality of the Brazilian player is not in question, but Xavi prefers to preserve the good atmosphere in the locker room, considering that Neymar could be a source of instability and division within the group.
Furthermore, Barcelona has already secured the signing of Vítor Roque from Athletico Paranaense, meaning that the spot for a forward position will already be filled.
