Portugal has just defeated North Macedonia in Skopje, the capital of the Balkan country with which it is vying for the leadership of Group 1 in the qualifying rounds for the 2024 European Championship in Germany. With a 23-29 victory, the National Team remains undefeated at this stage, leading the group, and could secure access to next year’s Euro if it wins against this team on Sunday in Matosinhos, in a match scheduled for 5:30 PM.

Despite having poor finishing, allowing the recovery from a four-goal deficit and a 20-20 tie, the Heroes of the Sea, who led 11-14 at halftime, rallied in the second half and sealed the victory with 10 goals from António Areia, who was immaculate with 100% efficiency.

Filip Kuzmanovski and Martin Serafimov, with five goals each, were the most successful in the team led by Kiril Lazarov.
