The 23-year-old midfielder has stood out this season and has a release clause of €120 million.

Barcelona wants to quickly find a replacement for Sergio Busquets and is interested in signing Florentino from Benfica, according to information initially reported by Sport and confirmed by Desporto ao Minuto.

According to information gathered by the Catalan newspaper, Xavi Hernández considers the 23-year-old midfielder to be an interesting option for the Blaugrana midfield, especially after his impressive numbers in Benfica’s Champions League campaign.

Barcelona knows that Florentino’s release clause is set at €120 million, but is trying to reach an agreement for a third of that value, in order to present an offer of €40 million.

The interception of passes and the way the Portuguese midfielder ‘steals’ the ball from the opponent are aspects that have pleased the management of the Catalan club, which failed to secure the return of Lionel Messi, but is already considering the possibility of recovering Neymar.

It should be remembered that Florentino spent almost his entire youth career at Benfica and, after being loaned to AS Monaco and Getafe, managed to thrive under Roger Schmidt, registering three assists in 45 games this season.
