Carplus Fuenlabrada reported a serious threat against its coach, Óscar Quintana, to the police on Tuesday.
“The season is tough for everyone and criticism is understandable, but there are things that are simply unacceptable. This has already been reported to the National Police station,” wrote the club, which currently occupies last place in the Liga Endesa, the top tier of Spanish basketball.
“I’m going to burn your house down, Quintana, and put a bomb in your car,” was the comment reported by Carplus Fuenlabrada, which also stated that it reported those who “liked the comment.”
The historic Spanish basketball club is going through difficult times, with José Quintana, president and brother of the current coach, announcing his desire to resign in an open letter at the end of February.
