Zanetti confessed that it won’t be easy to ‘rescue’ his compatriot for Milan.
Javier Zanetti was in Paris this Monday, where he attended the The Best awards gala, which honored his compatriots Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martínez, and Lionel Scaloni as the best player, goalkeeper, and coach in the world, respectively.
On the sidelines of the FIFA-organized event, the former Argentine international didn’t hold back in his praise for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, but, when questioned about the possibility of ‘rescuing’ him for Inter Milan, he preferred to play it safe.
“It’s complicated, it seems a bit expensive…”, replied the vice-president of the Nerazzurri club, laughing, in statements given to ESPN.
“In my opinion, Messi is the essence of football, and he has been demonstrating that throughout his career. This is an award he deserves,” the former defender concluded.
